Dear Customers,

Following Government guidelines, we are delighted to confirm that we will be re-opening from Wednesday 20th May next, and look forward to welcoming you back!

As part of the ongoing measures that are to remain in place in the meantime however, we will be implementing the following protocols, to ensure the safety of both staff and members alike.

Facilities

  • All shooting is to be booked in advance, either online or over the phone, and we ask that customers do not attend without prior notification.
  • Opening days will be reduced, initially, to Wednesday-Sunday only.
  • Booking times will be staggered, and restricted to 90 minutes, to limit the number of shooters on site at any given time, and to ensure social distancing.
  • Access to the shop will be restricted, and so the purchase of ammunition and/or retrieval of firearms from lockers must be arranged in advance.
  • Payments are to be made in advance, either online or over the phone to avoid the handling of cash and cards wherever possible.
  • The retail areas and clubhouse will remain closed.
  • Outside toilet facilities will be available and cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Hand sanitiser and other sanitising equipment will be made available around the site for use by customers.
  • No guests, children or large social gatherings are permitted.
  • Juniors (over 16 for this period of time) must be accompanied by a member of their own household.
  • Members using the pistol and rifle ranges will be obliged to comply with the directions given by Range Safety Officers (RSO) present, which directions may extend to social distancing and other Covid-19 related matters.
Shooters Guidance
Customers are asked to please:

  1. Only attend by advance booking, or prior arrangement, and notify us of your arrival on site before beginning shooting.
  2. Book and pay in advance online, or over the phone.
  3. Adhere to all social distancing guidelines, directions from RSOs, and current travel restrictions, and refrain from physical contact with other shooters or staff.
  4. Comply with any directions given by staff during your time on site, and only use stands as directed.
  5. Be patient if queues or waiting times occur as a result of these restrictions.
  6. Plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booking time.
  7. Observe physical distancing at all times, both in the car park and on the range.
  8. Travel independently, unless with a member of your own household and park in a manner that allows for social distancing.
  9. Limit groups to no more than 4 people, maintaining social distancing at all times. Members of the same household should shoot together, rather than splitting into separate groups.
  10. Bring, and wear, your own Personal Protective Equipment wherever possible, including gloves, masks, hand sanitiser and wipes, as required.
  11. Bring your own refreshments and snacks whilst the Clubhouse facilities remain closed.
  12. Wash and sanitise your hands and equipment on arrival, and as frequently as possible during your time on site.
  13. Clean down stand equipment before and after use, with the sanitising equipment provided.
  14. Do not touch other shooters equipment, or share equipment with other shooters.
  15. Minimise your use of additional facilities such as the shop or toilets as far as possible.
  16. Purchase your own clay card for €5 (clay shooters only) to minimise handling by multiple people.
  17. Travel down the tunnel on the left hand side, and allow other shooters to finish at their stand before taking your turn.
  18. Take any rubbish away with you, and dispose of it at home, rather than on the grounds.
  19. Plan to leave promptly after completion of shooting, and avoid prolonged social gathering.
Please refrain from visiting the site if you, or anyone in your household, are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, or if you think you may have come into contact with someone who may have Covid-19. Please do not attend until you have completed the recommended period of self-isolation, following the HSE and WHO guidelines, and have recovered fully. Those in high-risk categories should not attend.
The online booking system can now be accessed via this link:- www.courtlough.ie/book-now. Please navigate to the “Members” category, select which type of shooting you require, and follow the prompts to book.

We understand that these rules may seem very restrictive, however please be assured that they are only temporary, and will be lifted as quickly as possible in line with Government guidelines.

In the meantime, we ask that all customers assist us in observing these rules, in order to get through this period as quickly as possible, and to minimise the risk of stricter Government measures being reintroduced.

We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
