The Beretta DT11 Gold

Created to celebrate the DT11’s many successes, this new limited edition’s silver receiver is decorated with interesting gold-plated versions of the iconic ‘moustache’ line and logo on the bottom of the receiver. The DT11 Gold’s receiver, with its 43 mm width and increased thickness at the sideplates, guarantees greater stability when shouldering. The locking system consists of the replaceable trapezoidal shoulders, which are unmistakable, and the cross bolt that is typical of Beretta DT series over-and-unders. The Nistan surface finish ensures optimum resistance to atmospheric agents and to wear. It creates an elegant contrast with the lines that contour the receiver, which is skilfully mirror-polished. The graphics that distinguish the DT11 stand out in gold.

DeTails

DT11 Gold’s removable trigger group can be rapidly removed and replaced, when required, between one platform and the other. The trigger is adjustable and can be repositioned by up to 9 mm, thus always allowing the shooter to find the perfect finger position. The steel leaf springs assure crisp trigger pulls and a high percussion speed.

The design of the top lever is suggested by the experience of the best shooters. It improves the grip, reduces the effort and makes it easier for left-handed shooters.

The fore-end iron has a replaceable insert made from a material which has a high surface resistance. This ensures, year after year, the perfect tightness of the fore-end iron to barrel assembly.

Halloween Camp 2017

Make your kids SCREAM this Halloween!!!

We are running the most adventure filled and scarily awesome Halloween Camp in Dublin from €25 per child per day or €90 for the week.

So let us tell you more about what’s in store…

Every Day will begin with Zombie Archery practice…it’s important to make sure the kids have their aim on point with the Walking Dead wandering around. Each day has a planned activity (see below) and will finish with  Dropzone – BEWARE – this activity is sure to frighten even the bravest kids out of their comfort zones but fear not as our trusty instructors are always on hand to offer encouragement, support or even to rescue if needed.

Tuesday October 31st – All Hallows Eve

On the spookiest day of the year, we’re going to make the kids feel like real life Ghostbusters in the Splatmaster Paintball graveyard…Take CAUTION and be sure to watch out for the tombstones in the creepy graveyard and some scary surprises lurking around the haunted castle.)

It wouldn’t be Halloween without a few Tricks and Treats…and our Scavenger Hunt is full of both…WARNING!!!! Only those with a sweet tooth can take part.

Wednesday November 1st

With Fright night over…it’s time to make your kids SCREAM with laughter.

From the dizzying heights of our Adventure Tower, each child will get the chance to conquer our Aerial Trekking courses. Each level has a new set of obstacles to overcome and once they get going they won’t want to stop. The Tower is really where the kids get a chance to build their confidence as all of the activities will challenge them to overcome their fears and coax them out of their comfort zones, the best part is seeing their faces beam with pride when they’ve done something that they didn’t think they could do…priceless

*A fear of Heights is very common, our instructors always work with the children to ensure they are comfortable enough to participate but they can opt out if they prefer.

Thursday November 2nd

Kids driving you up the walls? Get them Climbing Walls instead (it’s far safer & definitely more fun) while you take some out to unwind. This activity is great for getting kids to think and plan ahead as they have to map a route to the top from the ground to ensure they can successfully climb our Tower walls before repelling back down & going again. With a selection of indoor and outdoor walls to choose from, this is one activity that will keep them busy and tire them out.

FriYAY November 3rd

Friday isn’t just a big deal here in Outdoor Adventures, its a GIANT deal and what better to way to kickstart the final day of camp than with the GIANT Swing. This is such a fun one to watch but you might want some earplugs because when that Swing goes Whoosh, the screams of laughter are LOUD.

Today will be the day where all of the skills from the Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday camp can be put to good use as there will be Climbing, Abseiling, Aerial Trekking all on the menu of activities as well as an Archery competition to see who can kill the most Zombies.

*This is also the perfect 1 day course as there is something for everyone.

July in Outdoor Adventures @ Courtlough

August is already upon us and we are taking some time to look back over July which was dedicated to a fun filled, action packed & adventurous Summer Camps.

The Outdoor Adventures Summer Camps ran for each week of July and what a brilliant & busy 4 weeks they were. From 7 year olds up to 16 years of age, there were activities for all age groups to enjoy & challenge themselves on.

What Activities did they do? Here’s the weekly round up

‍Monday was all about the Climbing Walls, getting to grips with the art of route planning and mapping your climb from the ground up. Once they reached their upper limit, they then repel back down for another go.

Tuesday was Aerial Trekking day, with 3 levels to conquer & obstacles to get past, our courses have something for everyone. For those who have a fear of heights, they started on the lowest level & could move up & up again if they wanted to and we were thrilled to see that so many camp mates did.

Wednesday was all about Teambuilding, after a few days of getting to know each other, the camp mates were ready to work together in teams and take on the challenges & games ahead.

Thursday was the choice of the group, they love being the decision makers so we let them decide and the fun followed. As an exciting addition to an already action packed day, all of the groups got to enjoy the thrill of the Giant Swing. The laughter could be heard from miles away, it was a Giant hit with everyone.

Friday or Friyay (as the kids call it) was the Grand Finale and there’s only one activity for it, Splatmaster. This child friendly form of paintballing really takes the “pain” out of paintballing while keeping all of the fun and the groups absolutely loved it.

Each morning was spent practising their Archery skills, this gave each camp mate 5 days to really get to grips with this sport and to improve their aim on the target sheets. After the each days planned activity, the groups finished up their morning with Zip-lining & Dropzone. Note – These two activities are not for the faint hearted, they really test your comfort zone. We were so happy to see the camp mates overcome their fears and challenge themselves daily.

We can’t believe that more than 2 weeks have passed since Courtlough Ladies Club hosted National Ladies Shooting Day (#NLSD2017) on behalf of The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club. NLSD 2017 very conveniently coincided with the CLC’s first birthday so there were multiple celebrations on the same day.

Here’s ALL the details…

To say that the day was a HUGE success is an understatement, Nicola & Áine from the CLC put so much effort into making the day amazing, it’s safe to say that Courtlough has never looked so good or pink for that matter. On Saturday June 10th, 30 lovely ladies turned up to take part in National Ladies Shooting Day, some seasoned shots but the majority of whom where complete beginners.

They were greeted with goody bags and a welcoming chat from the CLC hosts before meeting their instructors & making their way to the shooting stands. Once the safety briefing was done, the ladies got stuck into some serious Clay breaking with cheers & rounds of applause following all the hits, some of the lucky ones even hit the flash clays which blew up in a burst of pink smoke. In between their shooting rotation, the ladies wandered over to the bespoke Pink Clay Wall photo backdrop for selfies and memento pictures of the day.

Fieldsports Magazine Selfie Competition

There was plenty of hash tagging and fun to be had between shots with a prize for Best Selfie sponsored by FieldSports Magazine – our very own Áine was the proud winner (we look forward to reading her interview in the coming issue of the magazine). Storm in a Teacup even stopped by in their custom ice cream van, Mabel, to tickle the ladies tastebuds with their delicious desserts, whipped ice cream, Ferrero chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries & whole load of other yummy toppings.

Prizes…

After all the shooting, selfie taking, ice cream eating, it was time for the obligatory Tea & Cake in The Clay Cafe. While the ladies chose from the delicious cakes supplied by Take the Cake, sipped on their tea and coffee, the winners of the Beginner & Intermediate shooting classes were counted along with the winners for the Best Dressed and Best Cake. The prizes (3 NLSD silk scarves, a voucher for Sporting Hares and a beautiful rosette) were then presented followed by lovely recap of the day from Áine & Nicola. After a quick round of ‘Happy Birthday’, the hosts blew out the candle of the CLC’s first Birthday cake and raised a toast of pink bubbly to Ladies Shooting everywhere.

We’re finding it difficult to come to terms with it all being over. Don’t be surprised if you see some pink bunting still hanging up, we’re definitely keeping the Pink Clay Wall anyway.

We are looking forward to NLSD2018 already Ladies but if you’d like to try shooting before then, you can. The next CLC Ladies only shooting event is taking place on Sunday July 23rd and it’s only €30pp.

The Summer is officially here and we couldn’t be happier about it. Along with our high hopes for plenty of sunshine over the summer season, comes the longer days and of course our evening opening hours, meaning more time for our beloved Shooting Sports. And now that we’ve made the transition into late opening on Wednesday & Thursday evenings, it’s time to get the annual Beretta Summer League wheels in motion.

What can you win?

This amazing competition is kicking off on Wednesday May 17th for 14 weeks with the Grand Final being held on August 20th. The competition consists of a 50 Clay Target sporting course each week with entries set at €20, €30 (clays + 50 cartridges) & €15 re-entry. To be in with a chance to win one of the 2 Beretta 690’s up for grabs, a class prize or a cut of the 10,000 cheddite cartridges, entrants must submit 8 scores (1 score per week) over the 14 weeks. The course can be shot as many times as you like from Wednesday to Sunday, with your best score to count so if you’re not happy and want to try again (and again), you can. We recommend that entrants shoot on Wednesday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings as these are the most popular shooting times, if you’re a lone shooter you can be sure of meeting a few others & getting in a squad.

Handicaps Apply

To keep the competition as fair as possible, the 2018 Leinster Interclub League classes will apply, with AAA +0, AA +1, A +3 classes competing for one Beretta 690 Sporting and Classes B +6, C +8 and D +12 competing for the other. There will also be Junior and Ladies class prizes too so there is something for everyone to compete for even if it is just for your own Personal Best.

Courtlough Ladies Club

We know the Courtlough Ladies Club will be out in force for the duration of the Summer League so if there are any ladies who would like to join them, contact Aine or Nicola via the Courtlough Ladies Club Facebook/Instagram page or pick up a business card in the shop.

New Beginnings, New Directions, New Website…

For those of you who are seasoned Courtlough customers, you may have noticed that we’ve been going through some changes in recent years.

Courtlough has been growing, developing, building and most importantly improving. One of those improvements is our brand new website (more about this later) which showcases all of what Courtlough has to offer like never before.

We are no longer just Courtlough Shooting Grounds, from today we are officially welcoming & introducing the new additions to our brand ‘Outdoor Adventures at Courtlough’ and also ‘Courtlough Events’.

Outdoor Adventures is home to The Courtlough Tower, a custom built Teambuilding zone and Splatoon Paintball.

Courtlough Events is just that, Events, from birthday parties, Stag/Hen, Corporate Days Out or Teambuilding. Our Events department will work with you to make your next event the best one yet.

So now that we’ve set the scene, the time has come for the Big reveal. We have spent months working on & crafting a new website that will do the new Courtlough justice and we are proud to say we have achieved that. Together with an excellent team of creatives and web developers in Big Dog Digital, we have a finished product that finally encapsulates all of what Courtlough has to offer.

We are extremely happy to share our new, mobile friendly & very fancy website with you all so please feel free to browse, take your time to look around the different areas and of course give us some feedback (positive only) 😉
