Courtlough Shooting Grounds was established in 1996 by former Irish Olympian Richard Flynn, and his son William; also an International grade shooter and Irish team member.
Our roots and expertise in Clay Shooting began in 1950, when former Irish Olympian Richard Flynn began his shooting career and paved the way for the next 3 generations of The Flynn Family to follow in his footsteps, representing Ireland on an International platform.
Since formation, Courtlough has expanded to become Ireland’s Premier Shooting Grounds; offering disciplines such as Down the Line, Olympic Trap, Automatic Ball Trap, Skeet, Sporting, Fitasc and Compak Shooting, for both members and licenced clay shooters, as well as a number of private members-only rifle and pistol ranges, and a range designed specifically for beginners. Our ethos has remained the same – to provide state of the art shooting facilities, and the very best shooting instruction & experience in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. All our staff members hold professional qualifications awarded by the CPSA, NRA or Lantra.
We provide our clients with instruction and techniques that are suited to their individual requirements, whether for game or clay shooting. A solid foundation and impeccable safety training form the base from which true talent and personal style can flourish. Whether you are a novice learning from scratch, an experienced shot, or simply looking to ‘keep your eye in’, our shooting lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs and ability.

In addition, we offer a selection of instructor-led, clay and rifle shooting experience packages, which make the perfect activity for both small groups of family and friends looking for a fun day out, as well as larger groups hosting corporate and teambuilding events, hen and stag parties and social club outings. With over 75 acres to work with, Courtlough can cater for individuals & groups of any size, and our 30 years of experience have proved us as leading event providers.
All shooting layouts are fully covered in and shielded from the weather elements, making it an ideal venue all year round. We are located just 40 minutes from Dublin City Centre, 15 minutes from Dublin Airport and 5 minutes from exit 5 on the M1, making us a convenient and accessible location for everyone.
We are proud of our reputation for providing our members and customers with premium shooting facilities, including a Gun showroom & retail store, fully trained & qualified instructors, and of course the relaxed surroundings of our Clubhouse Bar & Grill.
This family business has also expanded its offering in recent years to include an adventure centre – Flynn Park – where you can try out activities such as archery, paintball, aerial trekking, zip lining, wall climbing, team building exercises, crazi-bugz and the newest addition – our inflatable waterpark “Aqualough”!
